Transform yourself in 2021 with an all-inclusive 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Bali

If you are committed to making positive changes in your life in 2021 now is the perfect time to invest in yourself, your physical wellbeing, and your mental health. If 2020 has taught us anything it is that life is often unpredictable and that things can change in the blink of an eye. If you want to learn how to manage your emotions better, be more adaptable to change, and to connect to yourself on a deeper level then our 200hr yoga teacher training could be for you. In this blog, we answer some of our FAQs about a yoga teacher training to help you decide if our training is right for you.

1.     I’M NOT SURE IF I WANT TO TEACH, CAN I STILL, DO A TEACHER TRAINING?

Absolutely! Our 200hour yoga teacher training in Bali is open to anyone who wants to deepen their own practice, gain more knowledge about this ancient science, or go onto teaching. Yoga offers a complete science in how to live a better, more healthy, and holistic life and we are happy to share this with anyone. A lot of our students who sign up aren’t sure if they will teach or not but on completion of the program, many are inspired to go home and share their knowledge with others. It opens a new perspective for you and you learn so much about yourself along the way.

2.     DO I NEED TO HAVE AN ADVANCED YOGA PRACTICE?

Inner Yoga 200 Hours Yoga Certification Courses 2021 includes a 90-minute Vinyasa asana practice in the morning and a 90 minute Yin practice in the afternoon. We recommend that you have been practicing yoga regularly for at least 3 months before coming to the training so you have a basic knowledge of the asanas (postures) that we will be practicing. However, if you are of reasonable physical fitness or practice Pilates and have a willingness to learn then you are more than welcome to join. So much of the training is about attitude, a willingness to learn, and an understanding of your own body. A yoga teacher training is not like a retreat, it is an intensive experience and you will be learning a lot of new information on top of the physical practice each day. This requires a level of maturity and the right attitude.

3.     WILL I BE ABLE TO START TEACHING RIGHT AFTER THE COURSE?

Yes. From early on in the training program we start student teaching so you get as much practice as possible. The practice teaching will be a mix of small group situations and to the entire class. We will also teach you how to sequence a class, project your voice, and talk about the ethics of being a yoga teacher. We look at the business side of yoga so you can go out into the world equipped with the tools you need to start teaching straight away.

4.     HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE THERE IN A TRAINING?

We like to keep our numbers smaller to ensure that you have plenty of time with teachers and space to practice. It is also made for stronger friendships amongst the group, many of whom keep in touch for years after the training. Most training we have between 12 to 22 students.

5.     WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF DOING AN INTENSIVE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING?

There is something magical about leaving your daily life behind to completely immerse yourself in a yoga experience with like-minded people. There is also a transformation that occurs over the course of the training that results from the intensive yoga experience. It is through this that you truly get to experience the science behind yoga. It allows you to deepen your practice much more quickly rather than attending training at home over multiple weekends where you will still have the stresses of your life and family commitments. That’s why all of our 200 hours yoga certification 2021 are offered as intensives, so you can completely dedicate yourself to having a regular practice and going as deep as possible. It’s also a great way to meet amazing people from all over the world and see a new destination.

6.     HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN INTENSIVE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING?

Practice yoga! The best way to prepare for the best yoga teacher training in Bali is to go to classes with the aim of having a regular practice of at least 1 hour a minimum of three times a week. If you are building up to this please be mindful of injuries before your training starts so listen to your body. It is recommended that you have attended some Yin classes before you come in addition to having a Vinyasa or Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. You will be asked to submit two book summaries at the beginning of the training so it is a good idea to start your required course reading early on.

7.     WHAT IS THE RATIO OF VINYASA YOGA TO YIN YOGA?

Inner Yoga was developed with the idea of creating a balance between an active Yang practice (Vinyasa) and a slower more meditative Yin practice. This is reflected in the daily practice of both of these styles. Over the total training, the ratio is about approximately 60% Vinyasa focused and 40% Yin however we are always looking to balance one within the other. Our yoga training program also focuses on asana, bandha, mudra, pranayama, mantra, meditation, anatomy, and yoga philosophy.

8.     HOW MANY TEACHERS ARE THERE?

Inner Yoga has a core team of teachers who have dedicated their lives to yoga teachings. They come from all over the world and have a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. There is one Lead Teacher for Vinyasa, one Lead Teacher for Yin, an anatomy teacher, a yoga philosophy teacher, and a guest teacher for TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). By having a variety of specialist teachers for different aspects of the yoga training you will experience a wide perspective of teaching methods and ideas.

9.     WHAT DOES THE INNER YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COVER?

Our 200-hour yoga training course provides a strong foundation that will enable you to sequence and teach safely and effectively both a Vinyasa yoga class and a Yin yoga class. You will have a sound understanding of how the body works so that you can help with alignment and correct student postures as well as be more aware in your own practice. We will also cover in depth other aspects of the yoga tradition including history and philosophy. Each morning will begin with meditation, pranayama and a Vinyasa practice. We will look at a few different meditation techniques so that you can choose those that work for you and maintain these practices after you leave the training and offer them to your students. As part of the Yin training, we delve into concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine learning about Meridians (energy channels) and the 5 elements within the body. Not to mention lots of opportunities to practice your teaching!

10.                     WHAT IS THE DAILY SCHEDULE?

A typical teacher training day begins at 7:00 am with a 15 – 30-minute meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) followed by a group morning Vinyasa practice. After the morning practice, we enjoy a healthy brunch with a two-hour break. After the main break of the day, we will gather for the theory side of the training covering either anatomy, yoga philosophy, or Traditional Chinese Medicine. After a short afternoon break, we meet again in the yoga shala for asana workshops and practice teaching. The day finishes with a 90minute yin yoga practice and a short meditation. Dinner is around 6:00 pm. There will be 1 day off each week after the first week where you can explore Ubud, have a massage, or rest by the pool.

11.                     WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COURSE FEE?

However, we understand that things happen, so if you do miss any of the training due to a valid reason (being tired is not one) then we will work out a plan with you to still complete the course. There will also be some written assignments and of course your final practical teaching exam where you will plan and deliver a 1 hour Yin class and 1-hour Vinyasa class. Don’t worry there will be plenty of practice teaching along the way so that you can confidently do this. Another important aspect of the training is your attitude, willingness to learn the content, and to demonstrate some understanding of what we cover in the course.

13.                     CAN MY FRIEND OR PARTNER STAY WITH ME?

The beauty of completing an intensive yoga course in Bali is that you have the time and space away from the daily life that you can dedicate to you and your practice. It also allows you to work with, and form connections with others on the training. If you have a friend or partner with you then it distracts from the depth of the experience of the training. Training can be intense with long days that are sometimes emotionally and physically challenging. We invite you to take the time for yourself and maybe spend time with your friend or partner before or after the training. It is very rare to be able to fully devote time to yourself for three weeks at a time so we invite you to grab the opportunity.
