At Inner yoga teacher training bali we
love exploring and experiencing the powerful influence essential oils have on
the body mind and spirit. If like us, you are fascinated by these tiny but
mighty oils and the effect they have on our nervous system, emotions, physical
body and mind, keep on reading to discover how to use them to bring harmony and
balance into your 7 chakras.
Chakras are commonly described as energy
centers in the body, their purpose is to take energy and nourishment from the
outside environment and use that energy to bring back balance and
harmony into the body. Sometimes these energetic gateways get blocked due
to certain unbalances in our physical body or due to trapped emotions or an unbalanced
lifestyle. We can use essential oils alongside practices such as meditation,
yoga and self-care to bring the mind and body back into alignment and
create a sense of calm, inner peace and overall wellbeing.
Root
chakra
When the base chakra is blocked or out of
balance the body can feel ill at ease, an indicator of this is that the spine,
legs, taste and blood-cell rejuvenation may be affected. Lethargy, anxiety, an
unfocused mind and difficulty letting go of the past can all be signs that the
base chakra is out of alignment. If you find yourself feeling sluggish and
underactive it might be a sign that your base chakra is under active,
use Doterra’s Patchouli essential oil and massage it into the soles
of the feet to stimulate and bring back activity into this energetic center.
Another great activity for stimulating the root chakra is “grounding”; spend
5-15 minutes with your bare feet on the ground a day, and try get out for walks
in nature as much as possible.
SolarPlexusChakra
The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with
bringing in the subtle energies of happiness, joy and “zest for life” into the
body. When the solar plexus chakra is blocked it’s common to feel anxious, have
low self-esteem and to feel the need to control situations and other people.
Physical symptoms include digestive problems, lower back pain, diabetes and
liver problems. Use Doterra’s sweet orange or sandalwood essential
oils massaged onto the lower back to bring balance back to this energetic
center. Practice some gentle hip opening yoga poses such as happy baby or
extended child’s pose daily, holding each pose for 2-10 minutes while wearing
the oil on the skin or scenting the room by using it in a
diffuser.
Heart
Chakra
Our 200
hours yoga certification 2020 help for you.The heart
chakra is located near the heart in the center of the chest and works to bring
balance in the body by drawing in the pranic (life force) energy of
the planet. When this chakra is out of balance it is common to have symptoms
such as high blood-pressure, heart disease, lung disease and asthma. Emotional
symptoms of unbalance include being guarded and closed off towards others
(especially in romantic relationships), being needy, putting conditions on
love, and the inability to move on from a situation that didn’t go the way it
was supposed to. To bring balance into this chakra
use Doterra’s geranium, lavender or jasmine oil and massage it into
the center of the chest. Other activities that can bring balance into this
chakra include volunteering, spending time with loved ones, family and animals.
Throat
Chakra
Located deep within the throat, the throat
chakra helps to keep us well by bringing subtle energy vibrations from the
earth’s atmosphere and sky into our physical body. This chakra is the bridge
between higher and lower states of being and its main task is to absorb the
energies from the earth’s atmosphere and purify the body.
This chakra is closely associated with the
thyroid, respiratory system and parathyroid glands, which bring balance and
equilibrium to the body. When this chakra is out of balance symptoms can
include too low or high body weight, exhaustion, thyroid, neck and throat
problems and head and neck pain. Emotional symptoms include the inability to
express emotions, lying, not trusting others and stammering. To bring balance
into this chakra apply Doterra’s peppermint oil directly to the skin
on the throat or add a few drops to a bowl of boiling water and breathe in the
steam for 5-10 minutes. Other activities that assist in opening the throat
chakra include repeating mantras, listening to solfeggio frequencies or
chanting Om.
Third Eye
Chakra
Located within the aura near the middle of the
brow, this chakra balances the circadian rhythms of sleeping and waking,
incorporating the energetic vibrations of Ether and Akasha into our physical
body through the pituitary gland. The third eye chakra is closely associated
with the eyes, nose, ears, nervous system, the brain and the pituitary gland.
When this chakra is out of balance symptoms include headaches, eye and sinus problems,
sleeplessness and hormonal imbalances. Emotional symptoms include indecision or
uncertainty about life, lack of imagination and poor memory.
Use Doterra’s sandalwood oil during meditation or
yoga nidra to bring balance into this chakra and to calm the chatter
in the mind. Meditation and silence is the best ways to bring back
harmony into the third eye chakra; practicing daily pranayama (breathing
exercises) and gentle grounding yoga flows will help to bring the body and mind
back into alignment.
Crown
Chakra
Located just above the head the crown chakra
is associated with pure divine energy and consciousness. When kundalini (divine
feminine energy) reaches the crown chakra it no longer belongs to the realms of
human awareness, it is purely divine and illumination or enlightenment is
reached. A person with balanced crown chakra will have wisdom, intelligence, an
ability to analyze spiritual connections and open-mindedness. Symptoms of an
unbalanced crown chakra include depression, psychological issues, sensitivity
to light, sound and environment and the inability to learn. To bring balance
back into the crown chakra use Doterra’s lime oil and visualize
“cutting the cord” of any relationships or situations that are hurting you or
preventing you from moving forward with your life.
